“They helped us whenever we needed them.”
The problem
A Surat-based SMM and cybersecurity startup was growing but not profitably. Their sales cycle was costing more than it should. The after-sales process had gaps that were creating support overhead and eroding margins.
The founder knew things were leaking but could not see exactly where. The business development team was working hard but without the structure to work smart.
What we actually did
We came in as sales and RevOps consultants for a focused two-month engagement.
We mapped the full sales and after-sales process, identifying the specific points where costs were accumulating and where deals were either stalling or requiring excessive hand-holding post-close. We then recommended and implemented fixes: tighter qualification criteria, a cleaner handoff between sales and delivery, and a set of process improvements that reduced the overhead the BD team was carrying.
We were available throughout the engagement whenever the team needed a sounding board.
What moved
Sales cycle costs came under control. The business development team saw a significant uplift in morale and motivation, a clear signal that the process improvements were making their jobs easier, not just the numbers better.
“They helped us whenever we needed them.”
What this tells us
1
Sales cycle cost is a symptom. The real problem is usually a process gap upstream.
2
After-sales friction kills margins quietly. Fix the handoff and the numbers follow.
3
A motivated BD team is a performance metric. If the process is broken, the people suffer first.
4
Short, focused consulting engagements can unlock disproportionate value when they target the right problem.
